Ville de Lachute informs you that individuals are currently circulating in the area, to carry out inspections of residences in order to propose major work, involving significant sums of money. These individuals sometimes claim to be mandated by Ville de Lachute.

Please note that no individual or company has been mandated by Ville de Lachute to carry out inspections in homes for this purpose. If people come to your home about this, they are most likely fraudsters.

We remind you that if you receive a visit from these individuals, be vigilant and do not hesitate to inform the Sûreté du Québec by dialing 310-4141 (land line), *4141 (cell) or 911.

During your call with the SQ:

• Transmit all physical and clothing observations of individuals as well as the topic of discussion.
• If you still have them in sight at the time of your call, indicate their direction and the description of their vehicle (model, color, plate number, etc.).

Ville de Lachute reminds that soliciting and peddling is prohibited on its territory by the Public Safety Regulation.
